‘Wuling Talents’ enjoy free admission to 39 scenic areas in Xiangxi Prefecture

In order to implement the strategy of strengthening Xiangxi Prefecture through talents, starting from January 1, 2024, “Wuling talents” can enjoy free admission to 39 national tourist attractions in Xiangxi Prefecture with their ID cards or Wuling Talent Cards.

“Wuling talents” refer to experts who have outstanding academic and theoretical achievements as well as leading scientific and technological achievements in the fields like natural sciences, philosophy and social sciences, management science, and engineering technology, and have made outstanding contributions to the economic and social development of Xiangxi Prefecture. This measure can promote the high-quality development of cultural tourism industry in Xiangxi and enhance the reputation of the tourism industry. Xiangxi has the most abundant tourism resources and diverse tourism formats in Hunan Province.

Aizhai-Shibadong-Dehang Grand Canyon Scenic Area (5A), located in the core area of Xiangxi UNESCO Global Geopark, connects the Aizhai Bridge, hailed as the “Mount Everest” in the international bridge industry, Shibadong Village, a birthplace of targeted poverty alleviation, and the Dehang Grand Canyon, known as the “hometown of drum in the world” and “natural oxygen bar”. Fenghuang Ancient Town (4A) is a famous historical and cultural city in China. It integrates beautiful natural landscapes, a long history and splendid culture, colorful ethnic customs, and the former residences of many celebrities.

The Laosicheng Scenic Area (4A) is a world cultural heritage site that has gone through such dynasties as Tang, Five Dynasties, Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing. It is currently one of the largest, most well-preserved, and oldest ancient Tusi sites in China.
